What is the replacement music? It's called "Royalty-Free" music, which means the studio buys it but does not have to pay any copywrite fees. It also means it is done by unknown studio musicians. So if you like it, the only place you can find it is on the DVD. There isn't a musician or a group's name to go with it (nor an album). I'm slowly adding a blurb on each episode page to indicate the music listed is from the original airing (or the syndicated airing on TV) but not the DVDs. Those of you who like the replacement music, unfortunately I can't help you with the name of the tune or who does it since it is royalty-free.

If you are still looking for Universal releases on VHS, I have four episodes available (unopened copies) of 1.1 The Pilot, 2.5 Spring Break, 3.23 Cicely and 4.1 Northwest Passages. Each video is the original uncut episode (with all the original music!) and contains a behind the scenes interview with the creators at the end. Added a new fan discussion board, Northern Expositions, to the Fan Links page. A very artistic and talented fan has some original t-shirt designs available on Cafe Press. Check the marketplace for links to Henry's tees. On that same page are additional t-shirt designs based on Northern Exposure.
