Holling Vincoeur, a naturalist and adventurer, is played by the Tony Award-winning stage actor John Cullum. Holling is comfortably settled into domestic bliss with his girlfriend, Shelly, a former Miss Northwest Passage who happens to be forty-three years younger than Holling. Having exchanged his days of big-game hunting to become the proprietor of Cicely's only tavern, "The Brick," Holling's main concerns in life now are keeping the townspeople well fed and keeping Shelly happy.
